Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Zack Snyder’s Justice League five thousand years ago, Apokoliptian warlord Darkseid and his Parademon army attempted to conquer Earth with the help of three Mother Boxes. They are foiled by a coalition made up of Old Gods, Amazons, Atlanteans, humans and a Green Lantern leaving the Mother Boxes behind, which will be guarded by Amazons, Atlanteans, and humans each guard. At present, the death of Superman [d] causes the Boxes to reactivate, which draws Steppenwolf, Darkseid’s disgraced lieutenant. Steppenwolf is determined to gain Darkseid’s trust by gathering all the boxes, and creating “The Unity”, which would transform Earth into an exact copy of their homeworld.
Steppenwolf overcomes the Amazons on Themyscira in order to get their Mother Box. Diana Prince receives a threat from the Amazons and then discovers Darkseid’s assault on Earth and Steppenwolf. She communicates with Bruce Wayne, that the two are trying to join forces to form a group made up of metahumans to protect Earth. Having previously failed to recruit Arthur Curry, Bruce finds Barry Allen, while Diana discovers Victor Stone. Barry is recruited while Victor refuses until his father Silas, and other S.T.A.R. Parademons are taken hostage by S.T.A.R. Labs workers to search for the human’s mother box. Steppenwolf is able to abduct and kill Atlantean guards who watch over the Mother Box, and then is able to take it away with just Mera, Arthur, and Arthur who are hesitant to leave it.
The team receives intel from Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon, leading them to Steppenwolf’s army in an abandoned underwater facility. The facility is flooded, trapping the workers until Arthur is able to rescue them. Victor finds the Mother Box he was hiding and retrieves it. He reveals the box was used to rebuild his body following an accident. He explains that the Boxes can rearrange things according to the wishes of their users. They realize they can resurrect Clark using the box, but Steppenwolf will soon discover the existence of the box. In the meantime, Steppenwolf receives a vision of the Anti-Life Equation that is located on Earth as a mysterious power sought by Darkseid to take over the universe and informs that he is. The team dismembers Clark’s body and places it inside the amniotic fluid in the genesis chamber inside the form of a Kryptonian ship. [e] After Barry activates the Mother Box, an amnesiac Clark revives and attacks the group Victor’s cybernetics targets his self-defense. Before he kills Bruce, Lois Lane arrives to calm the agitated man. They go to his family home in Smallville and there she recollects her memories. Steppenwolf recovers the Mother Box. Silas, however, is willing to supercharge the Mother Box with laser heat. Victor can track it.
Without Clark the five heroes travel to an abandoned Russian city, from where Steppenwolf is determined to create the Unity. They fight the Parademons while Clark arrives later and subdues Steppenwolf. But, Victor fails to stop the Unity from destroying the Earth. Barry joins the Speed Force before the shockwave hits his body, and reverses time to give Victor the necessary charge which allows him as well as Superman to stop the Unity. The team removes Steppenwolf, sending his body off to Darkseid on Apokolips through a portal. Darkseid says he will return to Earth in order to discover the Anti-Life Equation.
Following that, Bruce and Alfred Pennyworth created a headquarters for the team at the abandoned Wayne Manor. They also assist Clark in getting the Kent farm returned to the bank. Arthur is introduced to Mera as well as Nuidis Vulko briefly prior to riding off to see his father [f] while Barry informs his wrongly convicted father that he has an employment at the Central City police department. Victor is enticed to utilize his powers by a Silas audio message. As Diana thinks about returning to Themyscira, Clark resumes his life in Metropolis.
In the epilogue, Lex Luthor has escaped from Arkham Asylum and is visited on his yacht by Slade Wilson, to whom Luthor reveals Batman’s secret identity. Bruce awakes in his penthouse following an obscure dream of the future [g] to receive an unexpected visit from Secretary of Defense Calvin Swanwick, appearing as the Martian Manhunter, who thanked Luthor for assembling his team and then promises to be in contact in preparation for Darkseid’s return
